Training Albanian leaders for the harvest fields
The greatest need in the Albanian church of today is for godly leaders who are equipped to take the work of the gospel on and ensure that the Albanian church not only survives from generation to generation but also makes an impact on this nation and beyond. Our particular concern is to see leaders raised up in the Fier and Patos churches to be able to see them fully indigenous.

Bledi Lamaj has been appointed church apprentice in Patos and is being trained for future ministry. His training consists of different experiences. Firstly he is studying the BILD leadership courses with Will Niven with a view to equipping him for ministry. Courses on Acts and the Pauline epistles have already developed his understanding and we will, by God’s grace, move on to courses on sound doctrine, preaching and teaching and shepherding the church in 2012.
Second he will be undertaking studies for a year with the Albanian Bible Institute. As explained on our ABI page, we are able to offer a one year Bible course which will cover the entire Bible in an academic year. This will give Bledi more Biblical knowledge in addition to the ministry
Third he is being given practical experience in the Fier and Patos churches to develop his gifts and abilities. Bledi is leading a study for young men who are new in the faith in Fier and leading a study for nonbelievers and new believers with Will Niven there too. In Patos he is preaching regularly and is involved in Bible studies, prayer meetings and childrens’ work. He is also going to co ordinate the ministry amongst the young people.

The Patos church is contributing 60% of his total support and it is hoped that the Fier church will be adding some more in 2012 leaving just 30% to be raised elsewhere. We need just 750 pounds more for his personal support plus 250 pounds to help build his library, to send him to training conferences and to secure training materials for him.
